Abrasive blasting is one of the most air-hungry applications in any industrial environment, making correct compressor sizing essential. Whether you’re running garnet, sand, or another abrasive media, the volume of air required to drive it through the nozzle at working pressure is substantial.

Because blasting consumes so much compressed air, a dedicated high-capacity compressor sized specifically for the blast operation, paired with a smaller separate unit for tools, lifters, and ancillary equipment, is a more efficient approach than running everything off a single large machine. It keeps energy costs in check and protects other equipment from the pressure fluctuations that come with high-demand blasting cycles.
