Western Sydney University provides a state-of-the-art testing facility for business innovations. By using the university’s lab facilities, business owners and innovators can test products for longevity, bypassing the need for years of real-time observation.

In this recent installation, a small business in Western Sydney is developing a durable paint coating for industrial use. To conduct the required testing, Western Sydney University needed a reliable, long-term compressed air supply. The ideal solution was the 7.5 kW full-feature FC100-30D  screw compressor, complete with a refrigerated dryer, 300-litre air receiver, and inline filters. This setup provides consistent compressed air to operate a small sandblasting nozzle for rapid salt spray testing.

Previously, the university installed a larger 22 kW VSD screw compressor four years ago, equipped with a larger refrigerated dryer and a 500-litre vertical air receiver for another section of their testing facility. Focus Industrial has maintained this compressor since its installation, and thanks to its faultless performance, Western Sydney University once again chose Focus Industrial for their second screw compressor.
